Leicester: Day 8

Registration went without a hitch today, for the most part. The History of Art department is a bit scattered, but much less judgmental. They weren't able to give me a time table, but I shouldn't have any scheduling conflicts, if all goes well. And after all was said and done, I got my library card and my sports card.

I finally met my next door neighbor. She's a lovely girl named Kate. She's 21 and from South Africa. We're practically soul mates, she says, but that might have been the alcohol talking. I met her and some of her other South African/German friends in her room after dinner for some drinking card games. She had some South African white wine she wanted to share with me. We played 'Fuck the Dealer', 'Pyramid', and 'Kings' (which is pretty much 'Circle of Death' to you Kansas folks). As always, it was lucky in cards, unlucky in love. So she ended up smashed and I am still pretty sober. It was a fun evening and we ended it by going to Beaumont Bar so I could introduce her to all my Australians. They loved her, of course. Also, I know it's a bit much to be drinking on a Tuesday night, but I don't have class until next week, and nothing to do until one o'clock in the afternoon tomorrow.

Australian Word of the Day: thunderbox, translates as toilet.

Thunderbox! -I'll have to remember that one. Sorry about your classes - bummer. Hope you enjoy your classmates. A duvet sounds nice - what color?

Thunderbox! Awesome. I'm so glad you have such an awesome neighbor. It was very very very very good to hear your voice and see you tonight.
