Looks like I was being a bit optimistic about how fast my body would recover. My eye is getting better, slowly but surely. Waking up every two hours was fun. Apparently when I don't complete a REM cycle I remember my dreams really well. So I just spent an entire night confused on a carousel of dreams whose only consistency was the pain of eye drops and the beeping of my alarm clock. Not exactly restful either, so didn't feel well enough to go to orientation, again.
S'okay though, today's main information lectures were about....can you guess??? Health care! So I am confident that I have already tried out the methods that were explained. I have left my dorm hall twice today. The first time was to go grocery shopping, because I was out of medicine. The second time was to go to dinner so I could touch base with my new friends and make sure they remembered I existed. They were all very concerned and nice, which made me feel better. We have plans to go picnicking this weekend when I'm feeling well. Everyone was jazzed about karaoke night, but I knew that if I went with them, I would drink. And if there is one thing I've learned in college it's that: feeling sick + drinking = weird drunk and then feeling more sick. Not only can I not karaoke when I'm sober, but it's also more difficult to enjoy when sober. So I have exiled myself for one more night. There will be many many more karaoke nights in my future, of this I am sure.
Australian Word of the Day: Winging (pronounced with a hard 'g'), translates as somewhere in between whining and complaining.

Poor Vansy :( I'm sorry you got such a terrible sleep and are spending too much time in your bedroom, but I hope your eye situation improves very very soon.
Again, we're living parallel lives, except that I chose to have a beer and was waaaay woozy as a result. Oops. But it was worth having a sip every time Obama or McCain said "fundamentals" and "change." :)
Say hello to the Kingdom for me.
