Today Kenn and I did a lot of wandering. We started out with my mom shopping, I bought a crochet hook (since I forgot to bring my own) and some local yarn so I can make a new scarf. My mom eventually had to go do sciency things, while Kenn and I drank our cervejas (beer). What I really enjoyed about today was people watching. The people of Porto are loud but very nice and seem to enjoy themselves in their day to day interactions. Lots of joking and smiling. I like listening to conversations I can't possibly follow and instead focus on their intonations and body language. Also, Kenn and I walked up a huge flight of stairs and we found kittens! A family, in fact. I found the mom first, petted her thoroughly, she was quite nice, and then around the next bend of stairs were three kittens and a papa cat. They looked under fed and I was sad that I didn't have any food to give them.
Kenn is under the impression that Porto is a bit too dirty to be considered beautiful, but I disagree. Just the sheer force of having so much history in one place, literally buildings a millennium old, commands my attention and I end up daydreaming a lot, and subsequently, missing the bus.
I'll be going to museums tomorrow, and if the internet is willing, more blogging!

Are you sending a kitten home? I think Foxy needs a friend, and we should call her "Hot Stuff". Maybe two? "Think Pink"......Think about it
I need to be caught up - who is Kenn?
:D
Daydreaming! Missing the bus! You must be channeling me :) Vans, that sounds so cool and romantic. I'm so pleased that language differences aren't preventing you from enjoying people watching, and that you got to have quality time with cats. I had dinner at Zahra's house last night, and Coriander says hello. So damn cute, that cat. I miss you.
