Crikey! Oxford was incredible, impressive, awesome. As some of you may know, it is my dream to go to grad school at Oxford. Being so close almost made it seem even more unattainable than ever, but also made me want to be there that much more. I guess all I can do is try. We got there in the morning by bus and did a walking tour. Christ Church college was really neat. That was were a lot of filming for the Harry Potter movies happened, and also where Lewis Carroll wrote his works. A holy place for me.
For free time, a group of us went and climbed the tower of St. Mary's, then lunched at one of the two oldest pubs in the city (The Turf), and walked around the market. There was a Ben's Cookies stall in the market, and I've noticed that it is not easy to find a really good cookie in England. We all got fresh warm cookies and organic milk for pretty cheap. It was definitely a highlight.
We then drove by bus to Stratford Upon Avon, where we all took naps in our much nicer hotel, with much nicer beds. Then we saw a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and it was amazing! The most beautiful set. The theatre was set up Shakespearean style, with the stage more in the middle of things and seats going all around with galleries and such. The costumes were modern and they did some cool twists. It was the funniest version of the play I have ever seen, stage or film. Lots of physical comedy, and Puck was particularly good.
Tomorrow afternoon I actually get to go to my university! After some other fun things, of course.

Stratford Upon Avon. So cool, Vans, so cool. I'm glad your hotel rooms are nicer, and I'm so thrilled for you that you got to see Ooooooxford! The place where you will leeaaaaarn someday! (I'm typing this in a singsongy voice.)
Midsummer Night's Dream is one of my favorite comedies-yay for extra-good Puck and British accents all around.
I can't wait to hear about your university. Thank you for updating so often. xoxoxoxo
