This won't be a long post, my computer is almost dead.
We did a walking tour of Stratford this morning, but I, along with everyone else in my group, have been overloaded with information, so I didn't retain much, but it was fun. Then we went to Warwick castle, which was a little too disney for my taste. It was also uneventful because most of the cool stuff, like jousting, trebuchet, etc. were closed since it is no longer summer. Still a castle none the less, we saw peacocks, falcons, and climbed a tower.
The best part of the day by far was getting to move into my room! It is bigger than I thought it would be, definitely not a closet, and the student village is so pretty! Flowers and beautiful trees everywhere. I have a courtyard and a wonderful view from my window on the first floor, which is the first floor up, because they do it like that in Britain.
The only students moving into their accommodations this week are the international students, and I've already made some more new friends. Most of them are American, but then there are some from Korea, Nigeria, Bermuda, etc. They are all super nice and friendly. After dinner, we went to the bar at Beaumont Hall and played ice breaker games. Within the first five minutes of getting to the bar though, I had a beer, and subsequently dropped it on the floor. The room (huge) went silent. My glass shattered, beer went everywhere. I was horrified, but my friends helped me clean it up and the bar man did not give a shit in the least. It actually was a great conversation starter. In the events of the evening I was dubbed Queen of Blue Block (which is where I live), complete with flower balloon hat (there was a magician), and we had a bar quiz! My team was The Half-Pints, because we arranged by height and I was on the shortest team. To be fair, I was the tallest on the short team. Lots of fun, we came in fourth out of seven.
I'm having a great time so far, but there is a lot of orienting tomorrow. I'm glad to get settled in more. My hall is the closest to Asda's, which is the Wal-Mart of the UK, and it's open 24 hours a day. Cheap as hell, thank goodness. Battery gone, got to go!
