Leicester: Day 24

If you are reading this and you are getting tired of my titles, I'd like to apologize. It sounds like I am in prison, counting the days as they go by, but really it is my reluctance to commit to coming up with a cute and clever title for each and every blog post. A girl can only do so much.

Today I went to a soccer game and supported the Beaumont and Digby Hall team. I went with Stephanie to help cheer on her boyfriend James. It was quite fun. Our team played the Criminology Department, and shut them out 12 to nothing. Turns out the Criminals (as Steph and I called them) were short on players and stooped so low as to recruit four Americans. Bad move. They had never played the game before. They sure had a good time though, and one got sent to the hospital. Typical, right?

More research writing. More travel planning.

How can they need a hospital??? In soccer? They don't even hit hard enough to require pads. What, did someone get a blister?

I've wondered about the titles. "Day 27" does resemble Edmond Dantès scratching marks in mildewy stone. We half expected reports of Kate digging her way up to your cell through the floor tiles.

On the upside, it will be easy to scroll through your diary when you revisit it in the future. You'll find each entry easily; just remember what you did on Day 93, and 4, and 7. . . .

I don't remember the novel well. Did Edmond get time off to buy a new dress?

"Quite fun"? I love it, dearie.

Cheers (and love),
k
