Leicester: Day 39

Here's a recap of my lecture today in English literature:

The Victorians coined the phrases 'homosexual' and 'nymphomaniac', gave us the theory of evolution and an explosion in the production of fiction, with an advancement in surveillance to boot. Hooray for Dickens, Darwin, and Eliot.

Here's something that not many others I know can say: I have watched Crocodile Dundee with Australians. Tonight was movie night in Beaumont House, and I can assure you that the Aussies are as entertained by that movie as we are.

To top off my evening I had a pint in Beaumont Bar with my KU friend Jen, who is leaving tomorrow morning for London. Kate has already left for Paris, as have many others. We international students are busy busy busy.

And the rain rain rain came down down down. Funny how much I am reminded of Winnie the Pooh here, but I suppose it makes sense.

Surveillance? Evolution, art, and surveillance?
else who has watched Mr. Dundee with a group of Aussies. Only you.

Yes, indeedy. You are almost smack in the middle between the place where Beatrix Potter wrote and the place where AA Milne wrote. Of course it all makes sense.

Snowshoeing today was bitter cold at 9,000 feet. Winds were blowing the snows in flat, horizontal patterns. And the wind wind wind blew blew blew. Still, it was a terrific experience.

Love you, k

Ooops. Error. The omission is:

[New paragraph)
[I don't know anyone] else who has watched. . . .

Only you is right, Vans. You're doing such brilliant and interesting and often hilarious things over there. I hope you're planning on printing hard copies of your pictures and making a Leisure Suite-style photo album, because I want to be re-told these stories with visual aids someday.

Oh Pooh Bear. He says hello from the walls of the Bungalow bar.
