I saw someone from Kansas! Who wasn't already here, that is. Yesterday my friend Nina Sell stopped into Leicester for the day and we had coffee at the library. Nina was a senior when I was a freshman and she lived at Margaret Amini Scholarship Hall with me. She was a very good friend of Spike's and I hadn't seen her for over a year because she came to Leicester to get her master's in museum studies and now she is working for The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon. She gets to see Patrick Stewart on a daily basis! He is in a production of Hamlet. How cool is that?
I haven't accomplished a whole lot this weekend except chipping away at Middlemarch. I spent some time in City Centre yesterday, mainly to people watch. I am really going to miss the people of Leicester.
One growing disappoint that has really been effecting my mood is how early the sun sets here. It is pitch black by five in the evening. It makes me not want to do anything or go anywhere except to bed. Oh well, I guess even England can't be perfect.

Pitch black by five? Are you in Alaska by accident? Poor Vansy. I'm shipping you an imaginary sun lamp right now.
As I write to you, incense smoke is drifting across the screen, because my incense holder is somewhere in the house from the halloween party-we had 6 sticks going at once to get rid of the smell of basement poop.
Anyway...Nina's life is amazing. I'm so glad that you got to spend time with her-I hope it helped.
Clare got interviewed for the Jayplay about people-watching. It's coming out this week; I'll email it to you. At any rate, you ought to take very sneaky, unauthorized pictures of the always interesting British so we can people-watch vicariously through you.
Love you.
*incense story did not make sense. i meant to add that it's stuck in my cactus pot and is burning at eye level. K. Good day.
Be sure you get sunshine while you can! It helps prevent seasonal affective disorder!
"Some people experience a serious mood change when the seasons change. They may sleep too much, have little energy, and crave sweets and starchy foods. They may also feel depressed."
Okay, I'm done.
