Sandra and I did not wake up today until four in the afternoon. Yes, I can explain.
I didn't finish my post yesterday because the battery on Sandra's computer was running low. So what I should add is that when Sandra and I did finally meet up yesterday, it was not until one in the morning (technically today) at a bar. Sandra wanted me to have fun so she had some of her best friends pick me up last night so we could hang out and wait for Sandra together. It was so neat to try and get to know Macedonians. They spoke surprisingly good English, we had similar tastes in music, and they introduced me to the native beer, which I can't spell using this alphabet, but it's pronouced skopsko. Sandra joined us later than expected, after a day of traveling she needed food and a shower understandably, and we went to several clubs. Then she and her friends and I drove up to the top of the smallest mountain near the city to get a view of the night lights. It was cold but fun. In general though, Skopje is much warmer than where I've been, so that's a nice change. We didn't get to bed until four a.m., and Sandra was exhausted from traveling, and I am coming down with a cold, hence we slept for twelve hours.
Sandra's mother and brother are so so nice, and I'm being well taken care of. My luggage is still in Amsterdam, it didn't make it onto any of the flights today. The Skopje airport assures me that if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, it will be sent to my permanent address in Sandy. This worries me a bit, but if I can manage to not pay more fees on excess baggage, that would be cool. At the same time, having more than one set of clothes would be nice.
Tomorrow Sandra and I are going on a day trip with some of her friends to see a village in the mountains that is supposed to have a lot of cool archeology sites and old churches. And a lake. I will take a lot of pictures.

This all sounds great. We expect you to sleep from the time you arrive to New Year's.
I don't recall which itinerary you have with you for this upcoming leg of the trip, but it's possible that there may be a change in flight times. Best to check online before you forge ahead.
Love you. Miss you. Happy holidays to Sandra and her family.
